“Milky Way Nights ” is 18”x24” mixed media - acrylic and cacti- on 3/4” wood (unframed). I used cactus fiber -the inside of a cacti- for the texture. Milky Way sky is something we are blessed with often. This piece just came together in a wonderful way.

Please note this is on a 3/4” deep wood panel - not canvas.

What I love about this piece

“Milky Way Nights” was inspired by our night skies. When we first moved to our land looking at the night sky felt like you were in a snow globe of stars. I was, and still am to this day, in awe of the Milky Way. In this piece I also used the inside of cacti found on our land to create the texture of the cactus in the painting. It makes me full of gratitude when I think how lucky we are to have this view and steward this land.
