“WS Uri” is a mixed media - acrylic and oil pastel - on 20”x 16” cotton canvas in a black wooden frame. I created this piece in the midst of Winter Storm Uri! It was a once in a lifetime (I HOPE!) ice storm for us in the Texas Hill Country. The storm challenged us in so many ways. But, it also brought out the beauty in our community as we all helped each other through unprecedented cold (negative 13 degrees Fahrenheit) and 3 weeks with no power or water. What I love about this piece

“WS Uri” was inspired by our ice covered land during Winter Storm Uri. Although extremely challenging, it was extremely beautiful. I love the cool colours of “WS Uri.” I can just feel the cold, crisp air on my face!
